The congregation of Wellspring, the former Kensington Baptist Church, has grown considerably over the years, providing myriad programs for those in need. In order to expand their offerings and opportunities for education and fellowship, the parish retained Newfield Construction to provide Construction Management services on their new sanctuary building addition. Working closely with architect J. Whitney Huber, this project included a new 550-seat, 22,000 square foot worship facility with adjacent fellowship spaces, classrooms, meeting rooms and café with commercial kitchen. The sanctuary has been designed with a large nave or welcome lobby at the front door, that can accommodate additional capacity at peak holiday times. The old sanctuary was renovated and is used for youth ministries including a youth church, classrooms and a video arcade. Throughout the building, areas for small gatherings have been considered and the overall project has been very positively received.
